Important: While active, the data endpoint, values endpoints, and sources endpoint are currently not under development. We strongly recommend using the EarthCache endpoint for all future data searches.
In order to use these endpoints, you will need a SkyWatch API key. If you do not have an API key, you can sign up for one here.
The data endpoint allows you to search and download optical and atmospheric data and imagery. Sources you can request data from can be found through the source endpoint.
All bands can be requested through the data endpoint, however "Hierarchical-Data-Format" bands can be quite large. To do some further searches within those bands, you can use the values endpoint.
You can find information on how to search and download data through the data endpoint, in our data endpoint documentation.
The values endpoint allows you to search and acquire numerical measurement of data for the atmospheric sources, enabling you to look through some large numerical datasets to find what you are looking for. The values endpoint does not provide imagery, rather the values associated to the atmospheric (CO2) measurements (numerical values).
The values endpoint takes all of the measurement values out of their HDF files and puts them in a database, based on their area, allowing you to then search a specific area and get only the actual numbers for that area as plain text. As HDF files can be quite large, this saves you time when searching for specific area values.
Sources you can request data from can be found through the source endpoint. Sources with "Hierarchical-Data-Format" bands, such as AIRS, TES, and OCO-2 can be requested through the value endpoint. Other bands should be requested through the data endpoint.
You can find information on how to search and read data through the values endpoint, in our values endpoint documentation.
You can find information on how to find the correct source name and more information about each source available for download through our data and values endpoint in our sources endpoint documentation.
